Here is a vintage Schrade Rare, 491, 4 1/4 fixed blade hunting knife from the 49'rs series of knives made between 1973 and 1979. The 491 was the smallest of the four knives followed by the 497, 498, and 499. However the 491 was only made from 1973 to 1976 for 3 years making the rarest of the knives. The blade is slightly over 4 1/4 long and has been very lightly sharpened. The blade is bright and shiny no scratches or marks. The guard is like new bright. The stacked leather handle looks new bright and reflective. The brass designer plate pommel is bright and shiny with the makers mark clearly visible. The leather original sheath is in very good condition with all the rivets bright and all the stitches.

The sheath has the squared off end with the original laces. This a used knife and a very collectable knife.
