The W49 is one of Western's best-known large Bowie patterns, with roughly a 9½-inch blade and 14½-inch overall length on typical examples. Your knife has the classic large clip-point blade, brass crossguard, dark wood handle scales with brass pins, and a Western-marked brown leather sheath. The original-style Western sheath is a major plus.

Knife is pre-owned and shows genuine age and use. Blade has visible scratches, staining, spotting and surface discoloration, particularly toward the lower portion of the blade.

Edge appears intact with no obvious large chips visible in the photographs. Wood handle scales display attractive grain and appear solid. Brass guard has normal age-related patina. Leather sheath remains present and serviceable with stitching, rivets, belt hanger and lanyard intact. Sheath shows normal age, discoloration and wear.
