Vintage Craftsman American Eagle by Schrade Fixed Blade Hunting Bowie Knife
Offered for sale is a Craftsman "American Eagle" fixed-blade hunting Bowie knife, made in USA, probably circa 1970s. This knife was retailed by Sears Roebuck & Company, and made for Sears by Schrade Cutlery. Back in Sears' heyday, Sears Craftsman tools were regarded as some of the best made and had a lifetime replacement guarantee. This knife features a carbon steel clip point blade, a brass hilt, an aluminum "crow's beak" pommel, and a brown sawcut textured Delrin handle.
The blade is 7-3/8" long and 1/8" thick at the hilt. The blade is tang stamped Craftsman USA. The knife is in very good condition overall, showing signs of normal use and carry. The blade appears to be at least 99% intact, and shows some minor pitting throughout. Comes with its original brown leather "Top Grain Cowhide" sheath.
This knife is very well made, and will provide many years of service with proper care. Or, it would be right at home in a collection of fixed blade knives.
