Early in the 1980s Charles Author Mahan III began designing knives and having them built by Siezo Imai in Seki city Japan. These knives were made from Mahans proprietary steel that he invented and manufactured. They became very popular for their high quality and design style.
Manufacturing and importing became too costly and with famous brands like Case and Buck to compete with Mahans production dwindled. These are still sought out by collectors and are getting tough to find. Very high quality materials and attention to fit/finish make these knives a great addition to a collection.
Do some research on this brand.. Blade edge is abuse free. Blade finish has light wear and a few shallow scratches. Handle scales are in very nice shape.Original sheath is in used but still nice cond.
