Case & Sons as a salesman afterward, later aiding his son Dean Case and nephews Russ Case and Tint Champlin in forming Kinfolks in Little Valley, NY.
Certainly a jobber - stamping Kinfolks fixed-blade knives with "Jean Case Cut Co Little Valley NY" - this entity outlived its creator, with Jean passing in 1935. Last photo is from a controversial section of the book: "KINFOLKS KNIVES" written by Dean Case, who was a Grandson of the Dean Case, who ran KINFOLKS Cutlery. CASE & SONS CUTLERY; Little Valley, NY. Nice and tight STACKED LEATHER HANDLE - HUNTER/SKINNER PATTERN (similar to CASE 364 pattern). Blade ricasso clearly stamped JEAN CASE / CUT.
CO / LITTLE VALLEY, NY. No pattern identified on tang, but blade shape reminiscent of CASE 364 pattern. Length = 8 3/4 total length. Tight leather rings and pommel.No give or free play. Spine of blade has grooves for THUMB GRIP. Knight's Head Nickel-Silver POMMEL.
SHEATH is nice and fits well. Has a cut in the mouth. Snaps and holds handle tightly. Knife was lightly used If at all.Blade edge looks original - either never sharpened or very lightly sharpened. Someone long ago cleaned and lightly buffed the blade. There remains an area along the spine of pitting. This remains an excellent example of a JEAN CASE knife.
