Old Vintage Antique 1800s Fighting Bowie Dagger Boot Knife Possible Civil War
This beautiful old knife belonged to my brother-in-law, a serious collector of Civil War memorabilia and re-enactor of Civil War Battles who took his accessories very seriously. The knife is unmarked, so far as I can tell, and may have been homemade by a blacksmith, but it is of excellent quality. The dagger-style blade is nicely ground with a double bevel and the patina the blade has acquired imparts an optical quality that simply cannot be simulated or duplicated. The handle was turned from some kind of maple. And finish are excellent, especially where the gently curved cross-guard lays snugly onto the top of the handle, entirely tight and without any kind of wobble. " long with a 4.5" blade. For use or display, an outstanding, heirloom-quality knife by any measure.
Please think "yard sale" or "flea market" not "Walmart" or Nordstroms. If we've really screwed up, that's different, but I promise you that won't happen. That should work well for both of us.
