Please read our Terms below for details. PLEASE NOTE: We take our photos in natural light outdoors and as a result there are sometimes reflections or shadows or glare shown in the blades. In person none of these exist; we will say so in the description if it may be otherwise. This outstanding knife was made in Italy by Guttman as their model No.
Obviously, it is, in every sense of the word, a loving tribute to the fine knives of the period produced by Bo Randall's company in Orlando, FL. It's not an outright copy but incorporating Randall design elements, this knife is truly a big chunk of high-quality lethality. The quality of its materials and craftsmanship--custom quality in every detail--are fully worthy of the stark realities of war in which a man's life may depend upon them. Its thick, beautifully ground and tapered, clipped blade is stout carbon steel, capable of being honed to a razor edge for inflicting maximum severance.
It is VERY sharp now and even many veteran users will find an astonishingly sharp edge here. It's long, top false edge is NOT sharp, making this knife legal for import into Australia and New Zealand, but it certainly COULD take a wicked edge. Its beautifully sculpted leather-stacked handle was made with finger-grips and is more ergonomically correct than the knives that inspired it. Handle was made battle-ready with a solid brass quillon and a large aluminum pommel with brass finial, which can be loosened to permit disassembly. Condition of the piece is used but very solid, with no problems of any kind.
Holding the piece makes it easy to imagine oneself engaging in behavior befitting only someone on LRP behind enemy lines. It measures 11-7/8" with a blade 7" long. By anymeasure this knife will make an excellent addition to any collection.
