Shane Kirkpatrick was a Colorado knife maker. Hollow ground, polished and sharpened, made from 1095 carbon steel. Heat treated to Rockwell Hardness 58-60.
Handle: Wood handle with brass pin, leather and red spacers, hand worked to a 1200 grit finish. My knives are made free hand without the use of jigs to construct. No two knives are exactly the same.
As a military veteran, law enforcement officer, martial artist and a hunter, I have had the privilege to hold many types of knives. I have put in time, sweat and even blood to make beautiful, comfortable and workable knives. We have a lot of knives in our family collection but what strikes me about this one is that it is clearly quality hand made but it is also a knife that can actually be used.
It is extremely sharp and although it has never been used, I feel like the knife maker intended for it to be used and not sit on a shelf.
