I WILSON TRADE KNIFE w/ALUMINUM LUG HANDLE RARE SHEFFIELD ENGLAND 20 ANTIQUE 1880's. Up for your consideration is this Incredibly RARE and HUGE I.

Wilson trade knife with aluminum lug blade grip. This rare trade knife measures 20 long in overall length and comes with the original hard wood handle and original 6 rivets. It also comes with an aluminum lug blade handle which we assume assisted to remove the blade when stuck and or used to help push the blade down into your material.

The blade itself has a drop point and long slightly curved blade. It is most likely made from a high grade carbon steel and has a tapered three quarter tang. The lug handle appears to be made from aluminum. It has a machined slot that fits perfectly over the spine of the knife and is held in place with 2 slotted machine screws. Wilson, Sycamore St, Sheffield, England on the left side of the blade near the shank.

It also has the 4 circle logo to the left. This came from an estate sale in Lake Forest, IL in 2017. The owner (an elderly lady) informed me that this knife belonged to her grandfather in the late 1800's and was used in his candy business, possibly for cutting taffy.

No props used for size reference. DIMENSIONS: The knife measures 20 in overall length. The blade measures 14" long and the widest part near the tip is just over 2" tall. The aluminum lug measures just under 4' long with a diameter of 1-1/8 at the widest part. COLOR: Brown wood handle and silver toned blade.

CIRCA: Likely around the 1880's give or take 20 years. MATERIAL: Carbon Steel Blade and Wood Handle.

Wilson Trade Knife comes to you in overall very good condition. As pictured you can see the heal of the handle was chipped and is missing a piece. The 2 halves of the handle are still securely attached(no movement).

The carbon blade has several areas where surface rust was once an issue. There are also other stains in the blade. The edge is in overall very good condition with one small nick near the center and several tiny nicks near the heal, the edge however is very sharp. The blade is straight and the lug is securely mounted. AUTHENTICITY and your SATISFACTION are UNCONDITIONALLY 100% GUARANTEED!!! LOC: C 4 D 3. You really like the thing, but not so much the price.. I find cool stuff, do some research and list it for what I think it's worth.
