Antique Bowie Knife and Original sheath

This is a very large antique Bowie Knife with its original sheath. The blade is 8 inches by 2 1/8 inches wide and about 1/8 inches thick.

The overall length of the knife is 12 1/2 inches. No makers name appears on the knife.

The cross guard and butt cap are heavy brass. The grips are bone and fastened with brass pins. There are several cracks in the bone grips but all remain solidly attached. The original leather sheath fits the knife perfectly and is marked with the name S.

This is a wonderful old Frontier era Bowie knife offered at a very reasonable price.
