Bark River Knives Gunny CPM 3V, 1st Production Run Collectable

Bark River Knives Gunny CPM 3V, 1st Production Run Collectable. Condition is perfect, however the box has been misplaced. The knife has not been used, sharpened or carried. There are no blems on the blade or handle.

Do your research- this is a very fine knife. Answer: Sabre grind with a convex final edge grind. Convex edge combined with super tough CPM3V steel- that's one heck of a durable edge! To keep it convex, you would need to sharpen with a strop & compound, or use a belt. If not, then over time you will develop a standard V grind and it will be like having a scandi grind knife. Either way you can't lose. I tried, and it's locked. Answer: Fair question: Your are right, it's an incredible knife. There are 2 reasons I did not use it: 1 I have huge hands (XL gloves and size 12 ring) so I prefer larger handles; and 2 I have 100+ nice knives, so it seemed silly to damage a 1st production run collectible knife just to play with it. To the person who messaged me about the Gunny sub-model designation.

Since I misplaced the box, I didn't have that to confirm. However, I googled photos of the "Scandi" model and the "Hunter" model in 3V and there is a noticeable difference in the height of the grind. From what I can tell from their product photos, this IS in fact the "Gunny Scandi", but still has a convex final edge grind.

That convex edge is what initially threw me off, so I assumed it was the standard/hunter, but I re-learned that they did make the "Gunny Scandi" with that convex edge grind combo. Kudo's to you for pointing that out! The item "Bark River Knives Gunny CPM 3V, 1st Production Run Collectable" is in sale since Sunday, May 2, 2021.
