Offering a Pre WWI Vintage CANOE, Ideal model, Marble Safety Axe Company knife. Stamp Era 1905 - 1910.
Blade is mostly full and age stained. With some pitting in the stamped area of the ricasso near guard. I can easily read M.The old leather sheathes were animal fat tanned and are very corrosive to blades if stored in the sheath for any length of time. Handle of Pinned German Stag Slabs (Perfect stag) / Stag Pommel / Large Brass Nut / thick Red, Black & Brass Spacers.
A fairly nice piece for a 110 + year old blade. These small blades are scarce, especially these Canoe models. Knife is 7-5 /8 OAL.. Across the ricasso, top to bottpm, measures 7/8. That's a Surefire tell of a True Canoe. See detailed photos for more info. In this case the blown up photos make the knife look worse than it is.
